The Beaches of Kythira

In the photo above, the enchanting beach of Kaladi is located on the east coast of Kythira, it has thick sand and fine pebbles. It consists of two omega-shaped bays, and in the center there is a rock with a cave inside. It is organized, has parking, and the road in most of it is asphalt.

Between three seas, Myrtoo, the Ionian Sea and the Cretan Sea, the island’s coastlines list dozens of beautiful beaches, some small and some large, some sandy and some pebbled, but all famous for their clear waters.

Some of them, such as Firi Ammos, Lagada, and Kapsali, have won the Blue Flag Award for their clear waters and services. Organized or not, they are waiting for you this summer for great dives.

Melidoni

In the center-east side of the island is Melidoni beach, a windless picturesque bay, amidst a beautiful natural environment that is a wonderful sight for the visitor. It has fine and coarse sand, crystal clear blue waters and wonderful views of the Cretan Sea, and the unique rocky island of Hytra.
The road to the beach for the most part is asphalt, except for the last about 700 meters, which is a dirt road. It is organized. It has parking.

Fyri ammos

It is one of the largest beaches in Kythira, and the first to be awarded the Blue Flag Award for its crystal clear waters and unparalleled natural environment. It is located on the west side of the island and has a reddish pebble from which it got its name and sand.
The road to the beach for the most part is asphalt, and cement, except for the last 500 meters which is a dirt road. It is organized. It has parking.

Palaiopolis

The beach of Paleopolis is located in the homonymous settlement and is the largest beach on the island, it is ideal for families and large groups. For the most part it consists of sand and fine pebbles, located on the east side of the island. The first cult sanctuary of the goddess Aphrodite was located in the area. The road to the beach is asphalt. It has parking.
