Panayotis Rent a Car & MotoRent has been active in Kythira since 1981. The founder of the company is Panayotis Defterevos, who started the business with just two motorbikes. Despite his humble origins and the challenges he faced, Panayotis’ determination turned these two bikes into the largest fleet of rental cars and mopeds on the island today.
Growing up in a poor family, Panayotis had to combine school with taking care of the family’s sheep, leaving little time for studies. Despite his teachers’ warnings that he would not succeed, his determination was unwavering: “I will succeed.” And he succeeded, with persistence, hard work and dedication.
Panayotis ‘ sincere love for his fellow man endeared him to all his clients. The smile that welcomed its first customers still lights up the faces of our customers to this day.
